In 1995 we did our real tour in the Far East. We saw al the cultural and relegious treasures of Thailand in a tour of 2 weeks and ended our holiday in Pattaya where we stayed in a beachhotel for another week. The difference in culture between West and East are clear, especially the religous aspects. But because there are also western influences in Thailand this country is a good place to start your exploration of the Far East (at least, that's what we experienced). We did see some beautiful things like the Royal Palace in Bangkok, but also did some relaxing trips. We for instance took a Thai massage that lasted two hours. We also went to a elephantschool were Piet got a massage by an elephant. Luckely there was no lasting injury, but we did have very much fun.
