In the spring of 2009 we visited Lisbon in Portugal. Lisbon was one of the cities we wanted to visit for a long time. We booked our flight and hotel via internet, the rest we arranged in the city itself. Lisbon is a nice city, with beautiful buildings and interesting musea. The historical centre has everything you could expect of a large city: besides beautiful buildings also nice bars and good restaurants. Public transport is very good, it is possible to buy a ticket with which you can travel with all available sorts of transport: bus, metro, funicular and elevators. One day of the week we spend in Sintra, a village 30 km from Lisbon. We got there by train, and and visited the two palaces, of which on of them was a castel like in a fairytail.
